Personal and Professional Background

Hello, my name is Candice W. Little. I earned a BS in Biology at the University of the District of Columbia in 1985. I was part of biomedical research support programs throughout my 4 years of undergraduate school. I also served as a Medical Lab Technician in the Army Reserves for 6 years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC.

I am presently a high school science teacher at Columbia High School in Decatur, Ga. I have been teaching at Columbia for 3 years and have accumulated a total of 8 years of experience including teaching assignments in Wahington, DC, Columbus, MS, and Tampa, FL. I have also conducted psychosocial and biomedical research for a total of over 11 years.

I am extremely excited about the opportunity to combine research with teaching via the Science Behind our Foods teacher Institute. I am married and have 3 children.
